What this is

Inventive runs a standard Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. It works with MCP clients that follow the current MCP specification, including Claude.

• Read-only. Nothing can be changed, created or deleted.
• Your organization only, and only what your account can already see.
• Live data. No copy, no delay.

Before you start

• An Inventive account you have signed in to on the web at least once. Without that first sign-in you have no profile, and connecting fails.
• The MCP connection enabled for your organization — reach out to Inventive to switch it on.
• An MCP client that supports Client ID Metadata Document — the client-identification method in the current MCP specification. Claude supports it. Search your client's documentation for that term if you are unsure.

Adding the connector to Claude/Codex/++

This defines the server and is done once. It does not give anyone access on its own. On a Team or Enterprise workspace, an administrator can add it once for the whole workspace. On a personal account you add it yourself.

Note: Authentication set to always required. There is no anonymous mode.

Adding it yourself: the Claude web app

Other clients use different menus and ask for the same settings.

1. Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector → choose web.

2. Enter the connector URL**:** https://backend-prod.getinventive.ai/mcp

3. Leave Authentication as "Always required".

4. Leave the OAuth client option on the default.

5. Click Add.
