⚠️
Upgrading from an earlier version (1.4.0 or older)? Version 1.5.0 uses the package's own managed Named Credential, so an existing setup must be reconnected after upgrading:
- Go to Setup → Named Credentials → External Credentials → Inventive → principal Credentials, and enter your Client ID and Client Secret.
- Assign the packaged Inventive permission set to your widget users.
Until these two steps are done, the widget shows "External Credential Misconfigured" after the upgrade. Once it works, any Named Credential, External Credential, or permission set you cloned manually for older versions can be deleted — they are no longer needed.

Step 2: Configuring credentials to be used
Generating credentials
- You can generate the credentials in the Inventive AI Settings under the Salesforce Integration card (see image below)

- After clicking Create Credentials, the Client ID will be displayed, and you’ll also have the option to generate a new Client Secret. Keep in mind that once the secret is generated, it will be shown only once, so be sure to copy and store it securely.

Adding credentials to Salesforce
- Open the Setup page, search for Named Credentials, and open it (see image below).

- Click on External Credentials and clone the existing Inventive External Credential. Make sure to copy all the values exactly as shown in the image below.
